Cost of living to study in Malaysia

There are many housing options for students wishing to study English or university in Malaysia, and prices vary according to location, as the cost of living in Malaysia is quite average. Housing costs range from $300 to $1,000 per month. These costs vary based on several factors, including:

1. Location

The proximity of the place to the city center affects the cost of housing significantly, as living in places closer to the city center is usually more expensive

2. Room size:

Housing costs vary depending on the size of the room requested, from small rooms to large studios that offer extra space and privacy. Lease terms and contract duration for external housing: Students are usually required when renting external housing to pay a deposit equivalent to one and a half or two months of the rent value to the owner of the housing or the owner of the apartment. This procedure aims to ensure that the landlord is compensated in the event of any property damage or loss during the rental period. This insurance also helps protect the rights of both parties and ensure the continuity of providing the necessary services in the housing unit during the student's stay. As for university housing, its fees vary from one university to another, and in most cases its fees are paid per semester and not monthly

3. Electricity, internet and water costs

Electricity, internet and water costs are often charged as additional costs to residents in Kuala Lumpur. These costs typically vary between $30 and $100 per month, largely depending on each individual's consumption of basic services. These costs are paid separately from housing fees and include electricity consumption, internet access and water use. These fees vary according to the type of housing and the efficiency of using technology and water, allowing residents to adjust their consumption of these services according to their personal needs and budgets.

4. As for other expenses

Such as food, drink, transportation and entertainment, costs vary between $200 and $500 per month. These costs are highly dependent on each individual's expenses and personal choices, such as a preference for eating at home or eating meals at outdoor restaurants. In addition, these costs also include the costs of the various means of transportation that the student needs to navigate the city, and the costs of entertainment and activities in which he participates to entertain and entertain himself during his time of study in Kuala Lumpur.
